Members of the Mills County Historical Commission, History Book committee compiled the book Mills County Memories in 1994. This is an excellent record of the early day settlers of Mills County and early settlements. This book covers all the communities in Mills County, with a listing of the cemeteries and persons to contact for the cemeteries. Includes maps with a updated page to show the new road numbers. This book is available in area libraries and at the Mills County Historical Museum. The Mills County Memories is available for purchase from the Mills County Historical Commission, $50 plus postage. A leather bound copy is available for $100.

Another published book put out by the Mills County Historical Commission is No Man's Land becomes a County by Flora Gatlin Bowles, Editor and copyrighted and published by the Mills County Historical Society in 1958. Virginia Ruth Rudd Long has completed an index for the No Man's Land becomes a County (c) 2002. No Man's Land becomes a County is available for purchase with index, $30. plus postage, This book is in the local area libraries and the Mills County Historical Museum for review.

Reprinting of MILLS COUNTY -- THE WAY IT WAS by Hartal Langford Blackwell is here and available for purchase with index, $30. plus postage charges. This beautiful bound book is another excellent record of the early day settlers of Mills County and early settlements.

Goldthwaite Memorial Cemetery lists those buried in the Goldthwaite Memorial Cemetery (formerly known as the I.O.O.F.) For only $25.00 plus postage you can have this wonderful book and its index. For those who have previously purchased the Goldthwaite Memorial Cemetery book, the separate index is available for $5.

Mills County Texas Cemeteries (Excluding the Goldthwaite Memorial Cemetery) is available for only $35.00 plus postage.

Our 2003 reprinting of the Mills County World War II Service Book is available for $14.00 plus postage.

You can also buy and pick up any of these books from the Mills County Historical Museum on Fisher Street or the Mills County Judge's  office, first floor of the courthouse to avoid shipping costs. Postcards, of the Regency swinging bridge, the old and new courthouses and the old jail, are also available for $1.50 each from the Judge's office at the courthouse and the Visitor's Center on Fisher Street.
